LG Optimus G2 spotted in benchmark test?

A device being looked at as the LG Optimus G2 has popped up by means of a benchmark test which was conducted recently in South Korea, the company’s home nation. The mysterious phone bears the model number, LG F320 and has been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark results by GSM Insider, according to Ubergizmo. This purported Android smartphone is rumored to have been aimed by the company at a fall release.

What has turned out to be a major giveaway for the existence of the said device is the speed of its processor which has been mentioned in the benchmark result. Set at 2,265MHz, it can roughly be translated to 2.3GHz. This is the speed at which the CPU on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset ticks. Now, it had earlier been specified by the South Korean electronics giant that the said chipset will indeed be making its way into its next flagship.

The score which the apparent LG Optimus G2 handset grabs in the benchmark test is 32,002 points. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra which was revealed recently had reportedly grabbed nearly a matching number of points, and this device too features the Snapdragon 800 setup. Past rumors have revealed that the phone will even come equipped with the 4.3 version of Google’s Android OS.

Its predecessor, the G Pro is now selling in some parts of the world as the company’s flagship. It bears on its front surface a 5.5-inch full HD display, and proffers the benefits of a 13MP camera, a quad core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB worth of RAM and other advanced features. This device is scheduled to be unveiled in India tomorrow, with its actual market release date having been held back by its makers.

The Optimus G2 on the other hand, is expected to be showcased for the first time in August. We’ll have more on it when added details regarding the handset are out.
