Very little is known of the LG smartphone that was caught in leaked images today, but some reports suggest that it could be the Optimus G2, while others speculate it to be the Nexus 5. But before we go ahead, let’s just clarify that there is no word confirming this piece of news and it should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
On the other hand, we must admit that the image has trickled out through the Twitter account, @evleaks which has been known to duly spill out reliable news. The well known source has also employed Facebook as a platform this time to get this tidbit across to the masses.
Even though the image lets us proceed no further than the external appearance of the handset displayed in the picture above, various estimations have given additional leverage to it being the South Korean conglomerate’s upcoming high-end phone. One of the reasons could be the placement of the company’s logo, which as authentic as it looks has been placed on the front panel.
This opposes the tradition of painting the manufacturer’s brand on the flip side, as seen in Google-branded gadgets so far. Gazing at the picture, we could tell that the smartphone has been presented with a screen slightly larger than 5 inches, and a startlingly slim bezel. And if this is indeed the next iteration of the 4.7-inch device which was caught in certain benchmark readings a while ago, it will come with a resolution of 1794 x 1080 pixels.
The results also pointed in the direction of a purported onboard Snapdragon 800 processor. If there are any credentials to this bit of news, it should give the handset an upper hand over the latest high-end smartphones which have walked under the spotlight with a Snapdragon 600 CPU.
The history of Google’s partnership with LG it proof that Optimus G handset packs specifications similar to that of the Nexus 4, which makes it a tad difficult to judge the originality of the device.
