Among the various mobile devices slated to feature in the upcoming Mobile World Congress, is the freshly unveiled LG Optimus 4X HD. This offering follows close on the heels of the LG Optimus 3D Cube which was disclosed just recently and is also scheduled to be displayed at the Barcelona event.

The highlight of the Optimus 4X HD is that it runs on the Nvidia Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It sports a sleek exterior and is powered by the new generation Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile platform. This DLNA and MHL compatible LG smartphone boasts of a 4.7-inch True HD IPS touchscreen of 1280 x 720p resolutions. The device further possesses a slim form factor as it measures just 8.9mm in thickness.

Jong – Seok, Mobile Communications Portfolio Management director, LG Electronics, states that the company’s aim is to provide high-performance quad-core as well as the core technology of high-end smartphones, combined with LG’s innovative design capability. Operating on a 2,150mAh battery, it comes integrated with 16GB of internal storage space as well as 1GB LP DDR2 memory. Moreover, users can employ the front facing 1.3MP snapper for conducting video chats and the 8MP rear facing primary camera to capture videos and photographs.

The LG Optimus 4X HD price and availability details have not yet been revealed. It is expected to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress scheduled to be held between February 27 and March 1, in Barcelona.
