The LG Nexus 5 could just be the next offering by Google which apparently will be released by October this year. Previously, buzz on the street alluded to the company choosing HTC as the maker for its phone.
The alleged specifications have come out through Android and Me which states that their source is someone who claims to work for the Mountain View company. The report does however indicate that the news should be taken with a massive amount of salt, as there is no credibility attached to it whatsoever. An image of the supposed device has also turned up at their doorstep.
The informant has revealed that multiple manufacturers have been bringing in their prototypes for evaluation and the one that has been put forward by the maker in question is bestowed with the codename of Megalodon. According to this tipster, the device would have a 5.2-inch OLED display that spews out visuals at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. A 16MP OmniVision camera supposedly rests on the rear and comes with features like 1080p video recording and optical image stabilization. The front panel encompasses a 2.1MP lens and stereo speakers.
Other specs that would probably startle readers include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that possesses a clock rate of 2.3GHz. The CPU finds assistance in 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Storage options are provided in the form of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. Adding to the list of these highly questionable details is a 3300mAh Li-polymer battery, under the hood.
The HTC smartphone that was speculated before, was rumored to house a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and the Android 4.1.2 platform. 64GB of hoarding space would be allocated to users and a 2500mAh power pack was also supposed to rest underneath the display.
The purported LG Nexus 5 is of course anything but a confirmed device and its specifications even more so. We will have to just wait and watch to see if the story holds true.
