LG G2 now receiving KitKat update on its international model

The LG G2 was released in India last September, and at the time of its launch it carried onboard the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. Its makers have now finally decided to infuse it with the latest software platform from Google, and have released an update for its international model.

LG is beaming the Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade OTA right now for the G2’s D802 variant. Two other editions of the device have already received this update in the past. These include the AT&T model which got its update last month and the Korean variant of the smartphone which had received it in December.

This update is slated to be a gradual roll-out, so expect it to arrive on your LG G2 phones within it a few days if it hasn’t showed up yet. GSM Arena has listed down all the important attributes which it will bring along with it. According to the site, the G2’s KitKat update grants the handset restyled status and navigation bars and a full-screen mode as well.

Apart from that, improved battery efficiency as well as a 17 percent speed boost for its apps also make their way into the software. The device’s Knock On feature receives a few tweaks as well, and of course, there’s support for Google Cloud Printer.

Like we said, the KitKat update for the international model of the LG G2 is currently rolling out. It can be downloaded in an OTA fashion.
