LG G2 coming this October with rear-mounted volume keys

Following tons of rumors and leaks, the LG G2 has finally stepped out and laid the foundation for the company’s ‘G’ series. And it looks like LG is becoming less adept at maintaining the surprise element considering that most of the previously quoted speculations have ventured into official territory, especially when it comes to the phone’s hardware.

Be the 5.2-inch full HD display, the 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset or Android 4.2.2 OS, they’re all there. While speaking about the display, the company said that the inclusion of Dual Routing technology has resulted in the handset parading a 2.65mm-thin bezel.

Just as it had been speculated earlier, the LG G2 touts the power and volume buttons on its rear side. These have been placed below a 13MP OIS camera that thankfully doesn’t bulge out. Furthermore, keep an eye out for features such as Answer Me which receives an incoming call automatically when the handset is brought close to the ear as well as Plug and Pop that suggests functions as soon as it detects a USB cable or earphones.

The device also doubles as a remote control owing to the QuickRemote attribute. Audio Zoom is present so as to focus on a particular sound while recording a video. Other features to look forward to include Guest Mode, Text Link, Slide Aside and KnockON.

There is no word on a price for the G2 smartphone so far. But the manufacturer did state that the device would strike stores in South Korea initially, followed by North America and Europe amongst others, by October this year. In addition to this, the company has partnered with T-Mobile to sell the Optimus F3 at present, while the Optimus F6 will be found on the carrier’s doorstep soon enough.
