The all new LG 5-inch full HD LCD mobile screen boasts of creating a visual experience similar to that seen on HDTVs. It is touted to carry a whopping 1920 x 1080p and 440ppi attribute, which is apparently the highest resolution rendered by a phone panel till now.
This should bring the picture quality seen on HDTVs to smartphones, as the panel is engineered to deliver a view similar to that rendered by 16:9 screens. When pitted against the previous 4.5-inch display proffering images in resolutions of 1280 x 720p and 329ppi, the LG 5-inch 1080p LCD is explained to be 0.5 inches bigger in size, flaunting 2.2 folds crisper pixels and 1.3 times higher ppi.

LG has employed the AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) technology for this generously proportioned smartphone panel. Owing to the high density proffered by it, the naked eye is not able to tell the difference between individual pixels, making the visual experience relatively better. Panels deploying the aforesaid intelligence are said to beam out finely detailed and natural colors for pictures. They feature steady display images and wide-viewing angles too.
Moreover, the screen is said to be highly responsive to multi-touch gestures, rendering the experience intuitive. Smartphones carrying such displays could be convenient for outdoor usage due to their bright light transmission capabilities. In spite of delivering highly refined images, the screen is designed to eat up less power and that looks like a major high point.
Disclosed by Engadget, the LG 5-inch full HD LCD is slated to be let loose by Q2. It will be showcased at the SID 2012 Display Week in Boston that’s scheduled for June 4.
