Lenovo P990Lenovo has recently launched its new P990 GPS Phone to be released in Asia. The phone is first expected to hit stores in China. The unveiling of this phone reveals that the company is not just into making great business-class computers but they now plan to expand their business to the mobile market too.

The Lenovo P990 is a GPS enabled slider phone. The handset sports a 3″ display with 240 x 320 resolution and GSM 900/1800. It also features SIRFStar III GPS receiver chipset, a 2 megapixel camera, a 3 core CPU and microSD memory card slot for memory expansion.

The Lenovo P990 should appeal those looking for handwriting recognition as the device supports both English and Chinese languages.

The device is sure to come handy especially if you plan to navigate around Beijing during the Olympics. The handset runs on dual band Quad-band GSM 900 / 1800 networks and is powered by a 1450mAh battery.

The Lenovo P990 is additionally equipped with the Wolfson audio decoding chipset used in iPods until Apple switched it up early 2008 and Yamaha DAC. The phone boasts of an in integrated media player supports AAC, AAC+, AMR, WAV, MID audio files and playback of 640×480 MP4 videos.
