The Lava P7 has been unveiled in India, with the entry-level phone set to hit shelves across the country soon. The handset will be sold via offline and online outlets priced at Rs 5499.
The dual-SIM Lava P7 is probably looking to attract the selfie-obsessed crowd by offering an LED flash unit for both the 2MP front and 5MP rear camera. The company has also equipped the snapper with a Child mode to appeal to frustrated parents who want to click a photo of their offspring.
The tool plays sounds such as bells and giggles to draw the kid’s attention and clicks a picture automatically once their face gets detected. Moving on to the other specs of the Lava device, it sports a 5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854p) screen which is encased within a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.

While the P7 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, the brand promises it will send out an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It hasn’t given a specific timeline for this as yet. The smartphone’s daily operations are conducted by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor.

Lava has stuffed the dual-SIM phone with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Users who run out of space quickly can expand on its memory capacity up to 32GB. The handset fuels its engines through a 2000mAh battery. The powerhouse can apparently survive for 20 hours of talk time.
The Lava P7 ships in-built with Google’s Indic keyboard, which supports over 12 local languages. Like we said above, the smartphone costs Rs 5499 and should hit stores soon.
