Lava Iris 505, 506q Android devices dive into the budget-friendly market

The Lava Iris 505 and Iris 506q are the latest budget Android devices that have decided to go up for sale even though there hasn’t been an official launch. The former has been pegged at just under Rs 9,000, while the latter will set users back by Rs 11,700.

First up is the Iris 505 which takes advantage of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS and naturally offers access to the Play store. We are also expecting it to be pre-loaded with a number of Google mobile services. A 1.2GHz dual core processor has been assigned the task of maintaining smooth multitasking at all times and 512MB of RAM has been tossed in to assist it. Speaking of memory, the Lava phone has 4GB of internal storage with an option to increase it by up to 32GB using a microSD card. The dual SIM gadget brings a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5MP camera with single LED flash, a VGA webcam and a 2000mAh battery amongst other things.

Coming to the Iris 506q, it is a 5-inch phablet just like its aforementioned counterpart, but is fueled by a quad core chipset that clocks in a maximum speed of 1.2GHz. The smartphone featuring a 5MP rear camera and a VGA webcam, binges on the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS as well. Apart from 512MB of system memory, it packs 4GB of internal space and sports an expansion slot to increase it further by up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card. Dual SIM card slots have also been carved out in this phone’s chassis.
