Kyocera Echo arriving via Sprint on April 17

Kyocera Echo Sprint

With no concrete release date about Kyocera’s Echo smartphone, all the enthusiasm surrounding its arrival through Sprint fizzled out soon last month. Well, not any more. The two companies finally share some coming around goodness for this enthusing dual touchscreen smartphone. It’s said to hit stores this April.

Fuelled by the Android 2.2 OS, the phone is spruced by dual 3.5” displays. Upon combining them the displays amount to an approximately 4.7” display. In addition to this, the smartphone also packs in a 5MP camera complete with 720p video recording, digital zoom and autofocus capabilities. What’s more, the handset is equipped with a microSD slot too.

On the connectivity front, this Kyocera offering is said to don the mask of a Wi-Fi hotspot that can buttress up to 5 devices. Besides the official Sprint page shows just how can the phone can take on different avatars too. Right from a tablet mode to a single screen mode, there’s much it appears that can be done.

The Kyocera Echo smartphone will be up for grabs through Sprint at a price of $199.99 starting April 17, 2011 onwards. The handset will be available after a $100 mail-in rebate on a two year agreement. Enthusiasts can begin placing pre-orders for the device from March 26, 2011.
