Following the Neo tablets to the markets in India is the Kobian Mercury iXA Tab, a rather affordable slate that offers a wedge of Gingerbread at an affordable price of less than Rs. 4,000. The company will put up the device for registration in the country from May 23.
The front panel of this Android 2.3 based slab is dominated by a 7-inch resistive touchscreen along with a 0.3MP camera for video recording as well as video conferencing over the web. The tablet can be employed for a number of purposes including watching videos, listening to music, eReading or gaming. A/V formats such as aac, mp3, wav, wma, avi, mp4 and more run smoothly on this device.

Weighing close to 340 grams, the iXA Tab acquires multitasking capabilities from a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM. Featuring 4GB onboard storage, it comes with an expansion slot that supports a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. Besides a protective case, a USB keyboard will be released for this tablet to facilitate typing on the go.
The Kobian Mercury iXA Tab release date and price are May 23 and Rs. 3,999, respectively.
