Karbonn A8 appears online, to start shipping on September 6

The Karbonn A8 entry-level Android Jelly Bean smartphone has been launched to take on the Micromax Fun series handsets and a lot of other affordable phones that are currently flooding the market in India. It is up for sale through Saholic in color options of black or white and is slated to be shipped by September 6. Prospective customers can check out the EMI schemes of the gadget on the e-retailers website.

Let’s take a quick look at the specifications of the phone. The Karbonn A8 flaunts a compact body and is draped in a 4-inch multi-touch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. A 0.3MP camera shares the front side of the smartphone with the display, while a 5MP primary snapper lays claim over the rear panel. The latter brings a horde of features to the table that include auto focus, LED flash, a video recorder, digital zoom and more.

Two SIM card slots have been carved into the phone’s chassis and it is perfectly compatible with 3G network speeds. Some of its other communication options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB connectivity. A 1GHz processor with two cores is the driving force behind the handset and you will find 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage in it. The device’s memory can be increased by up to 32GB using a microSD card. And a 1500mAh battery has been thrown into the mix as well.

The Karbonn A8 can now be purchased for a price of Rs 6,189. It is backed by a one-year manufacturer warranty.
