Acer Liquid S2 unveiled, records 4K ultra HD videos

The Acer Liquid S2 seems to have stolen the thunder of the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the much-awaited Sony Honami, both of which are rumored to pack 4K video recording capability. The Acer device that will be present at the company’s booth at the IFA in Berlin, has already been announced and Acer has confirmed that it indeed captures Ultra HD movies.

Claimed to be a ‘high-performance and ultra-multimedia’ handset, the Acer phone sports a full HD touchscreen that offers a multi-touch real estate of 6 inches. And as it has been deployed with the IPS technology, prospective customers can expect a wider viewing angle as well. The curvaceous device shows off a red metal receiver mesh and a metallic ring. While the curved glass offers an edgeless feel, the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating works towards keeping all scrapes and scratches at bay.

The Acer phone’s 2MP wide angle webcam can be used for the purpose of capturing 1080p videos apart from making conference calls. Its rear facing 13MP auto focus camera shoots 4K videos and tags along attributes like auto focus, BSI sensor and LED ring flash amongst others. The device can multitask with ease, thanks to a quad core 2.2GHz processor and 2GB of RAM and it should stay powered up for a long time, considering that the handset employs a 3300mAh battery.

And what’s more, the Liquid S2 rocks the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and gets its intuitive interface from Float UI. Loaded with a horde of proprietary features, the smartphone drenched in black or red brings 16GB onboard memory which is expandable by up to 128GB. Its specifications list also includes Bluetooth GPS, NFC, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and more.

The Acer Liquid S2 will be made available towards the end of next month, no word on the pricing as yet.
