Lose Your Specs? Put The Magnifier On Speed Dial: iPhone Magnifier Function

Do you hold on to your iPhone like it’s your baby but keep losing your spectacles that you desperately need all over the place?

Sure, you can use the camera’s zooming in capabilities as your stand-in emergency spectacles to see something far off or read fine print.

But did you know that there’s a magnifying function in your iOS smartphone that’s much more skilled at magnification as compared to the camera?

It’s hidden in the Accessibility menu, but can be launched super quickly once you set the appropriate shortcut for it.

To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Magnifier and slide it on.

Wait, you’re not finished yet. Go back to Settings > Accessibility and scroll all the way down to Accessibility Shortcut. This will offer you a list of accessibility features (like magnifier) you can launch by triple-clicking the side key on the iPhone.

You can add all or several of these options to the menu of functions that appear when you press the side button three times in a row.

Alternatively, you can add the Magnifier function to the Control Center by navigating to Settings > Control Center. Remove or add other Control Center apps from here too.

In magnification mode, you’ll notice a few symbols on the screen. Within this mode, they serve to turn the torch on or off, zoom in or out, and adjust brightness, contrast or filters.

Unlock Your iPhone Faster:

Unlock iPhone FasterThis one is for those of you who are still hanging on to your trusty iPhone 8 or older generation iOS devices.

Even though Touch ID works like a charm, there are times when it refuses to recognize your fingerprint and demands your passcode instead.

To deal with this issue, go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and use all 5 fingerprint slots for 1 finger.

It may seem like overkill, but it makes sense since your iPhone will have 5 times the information for just one finger.

Try saving your fingerprint from various angles and you’ll immediately notice that Touch ID works more consistently.

Pro tip – if you don’t want to press the Home button every time you unlock your iPhone, dive into Settings > Accessibility > Home Button and turn on Rest Finger to Open.

This solution to unlocking your iPhone faster with Touch ID sounds so obvious in hindsight, you’re probably wondering why you didn’t crack it before.

There is no fingerprint sensor in the iPhone X and later generations. The handset is unlocked via Face ID instead. The great thing is that you can set multiple Face IDs for one device if you’re sharing it with family, a friend or a significant other.
