iPhone endowed with GameSpy online technology presents Guinness World Records: The Video Game

Gamespy iPhoneGameSpy technology pronounced Guinness World Records: The Video Game for the iPhone, claims to be the first title for GameSpy Technology’s online gaming. This latest game would provide an impetus to GameSpy Technology’s online gaming services on the iPhone.

With The Video Game, iPhone users can compete to be the ‘Virtual Guinness World Records Holder’. Users can participate by posting their results for each event online, and inspect where they stand against their competitors. In most of the other games the global leaderboard is out of reach of the gamers; making it irrelevant.

However the Video Game is based on the GameSpy technology which is endowed with revolutionary regional and buddy-based leaderboards. This enables players to earn a system high-score and post it online and allows them to see their rankings across the city, country and the globe. Users can get their scores either by logging on to Guinness World Records website or on the iPhone. This is possible since the GameSpy technology is built with all Guinness World Records players across all platforms.

“When we were first approached about bringing the Guinness World Records franchise to iPhone, we were excited to be able to extend our online technology and services to this incredible new game platform. We are committed to working with creative and visionary developers like TT Games to continue to advance innovation in online and connected gameplay across all major gaming platforms.” marked Jamie Berger, SVP Consumer Products and Technology.

The players get real-time feedback on their rankings. Also the player’s current score is shown on-screen besides the highest score for the state, region or world. The game involves celebrating a player’s achievements and competition with other record breakers across the globe.

Another feature of the GameSpy technology is that it is scalable and it can add anything from a simple arcade-like independent game to multifaceted AAA titles. Moreover this technology can support extensions of a game from other platforms. Added features which GameSpy technology can offer, covers leader boards, in-game buddy lists, skill-based matching, and user generated content, persistent storage for player statistics and more.

The gaming services have been developed by TT Games and distributed by Warner Bros. This technology already available on the Nintendo Wii and DS is now brought to the iPhone
