The latest tidbit to draw attention in the world of smartphones indicates that the new iPhone 5 will finally make a public appearance on October 4 in a media event as the new Apple CEO Tim Cook unveils it. This will be first product to be showcased by Tim as head of the company, after Steve Jobs handed over the baton to him last month.
Since the word of its existence and development spread out, there have been innumerable rumors about the date when the iPhone 5 sees the light of the day, most of them hinting at a fall 2011 release. Adding to it, the October 4 media event brought to notice by All Things D is raising the hope of not just Apple loyalists, but several other consumers in general.
When it arrives, the big day obviously holds significance for both Tim Cook and the iPhone. The iPhone 5 is a highly anticipated device, not only for its new features but also for the fact that it will carry the iOS 5 along with it. Also, it will vary in capacities as 16GB and 32GB and will be painted in classic hues of white and black. Other speculations about its specifications include an 8MP camera and the dual core A5 processor. Recently, there were also rumors of Sprint bringing in the highly-anticipated device next month.
