The India release date details of iPhone 5 have at last been announced, and the handset is now all set to go on sale through trade stores and retail outlets this coming Friday. For those eagerly waiting to lay their hands on this highly anticipated smartphone, it will hit stores at a starting cost of Rs. 45,500.
Running through a few of its key specifications, it flaunts a 4-inch multi-touch Retina display, proffering a resolution of 1136 x 640p, a pixel density of 326ppi and a contrast ratio of 800:1. This screen comes with a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating much like the one seen on the iPad Mini and 4th generation iPad, plus it renders support for multiple languages and characters simultaneously. A 1.2MP HD camera rests on its front, allowing users to conduct video calls and capture clips in 720p.
On the flip side, there’s an 8MP iSight snapper that comes with an all-new sapphire crystal lens cover, said to be thinner and more durable than standard glass. iOS 6 runs the complete show for the iPhone 5 together with a company-designed A6 processor. It is fitted with a rechargeable Li-ion battery that’s capable of delivering up to 8 hours of talktime over 3G or 255 hours of standby. Also, users can expect up to 8 hours of web browsing over 3G in addition to 10 hours of video playback or 40 hours of listening music on a single complete charge.
Redington will be distributing the new iPhone in the country, and it has gone on to reveal that its price in India will be marked at Rs. 45,500 for a 16GB version. On the other hand, the 32GB and 64GB models will be made available for purchase at Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500, respectively. Buyers will be able to pick up the Apple smartphone from November 2 onwards.
