Intex V.Show arrives in India for Rs. 16,000

Previously, we had reported on the Intex IN 2060 V.DO dual SIM video phone. Today, the company has debuted what it claims to be the first projector phone launched in India by a domestic mobile handset manufacturer. Titled Intex V.Show, the handset was unraveled by Prachi Desai at an event in Mumbai.

The handset flaunts an inbuilt projector, which can project movies, pictures, music videos as well as other Internet content on a screen or wall of up to 61 inches. The handset offers high intensity projection of 10 lumens and QWVGA resolution. The distance between the phone and the screen should be up to 12ft.

Vaswani, Executive Vice Chairman, Intex Technologies. “It symbolizes our technological advancement and continued focus on R&D. I am confident that Intex V.Show change the way people watch movies, videos, picture galleries and even read e-Books on their mobile phones. If positioned judiciously, it could emerge as a powerful infotainment tool too. We are in touch with leading chip development companies of the world for future enhancements in this model.”

Debu K Dasgupta, Head-Centre for Design & Development, Intex Technologies, explained, “The phone is a marvel of technology in the personal entertainment domain. It can receive multimedia content remotely through GPRS connectivity which makes it a valuable tool for streaming of content anywhere- commuting in public transport, spending leisure time outdoors/ cafés, remote locations, etc. Along with provision of front and back cameras and customized Java applications, the phone’s sound output through built-in speaker can be further be enhanced through external amplifiers/ headphone speakers. All these come neatly packed in a smart design to fit into your pocket.”

The Intex V.Show integrates a long life battery, a tripod and the ability to display films at 25 frames per second. Further, it includes ‘Bolt’ a speedy mobile Internet browser. It fits in a 3.2 inch super color dust resistant touchscreen along with dual camera, dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support and dual memory card slot. The phone can support up to 8GB of additional storage capacity for each one of the slots.

The clarity adjustor furnished below the projector lens helps users adjust the distance and quality of images and allows them to capture photos from the movies and use them as wallpapers. The screen can be altered from portrait to landscape. It bunches up FM radio and GPRS connectivity.

The Intex V.Show can be procured for Rs. 16,000 in India.
