The Intel NuPC which has been designed through collaboration with electronics distributor WPG and Microsoft, has made its debut in India. The device is designed specifically for the country and has not gone on sale elsewhere. It’s priced at Rs 18999 for the base option and comes with a compact design.
The Intel NuPC mini computer is basically designed for use in retail spaces and businesses. Its small footprint means that it will not take up valuable space and you also get a complete desktop experience and pretty good performance through beefy hardware. Multiple versions of the company have been made available and they’re all customizable.
The base option comes with an Intel Celeron processor, but the exact model and configuration is unknown. This variant features 2GB of RAM and 500GB of HDD storage with a price tag of Rs 21999. And for Rs 21999, you’ll be able to double the memory provisions to 4GB RAM and 1TB of hoarding space.

For a more powerful option, you can swap the Celeron chip for a Core i3 processor. This setup with a 500GB HDD and 2GB RAM costs Rs 29999, while the same model with 1TB storage and 4GB RAM will set you back by Rs 32999. The mini PC measures 117 x 112 x 35mm in dimensions and features a full catalog of connectivity options.
Along with Gigabyte LAN (Ethernet), you get USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI output and a headphone-cum-mic jack. The number of ports made available varies based on which model you select. Also, Windows 8.1 comes preloaded with each NuPC and you’ll most like be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. This, however, is yet to be clarified by the company.
The Intel NuPC is a complete desktop solution, but you’ll have to source a keyboard, mouse and monitor on your own. The compact computer also makes a fairly good entertainment system for use at home.
