The bumped up version of Instagram for iOS has surfaced and it features a new filter. The photo editing effect has also been included in the app’s 3.3 update for Android gadgets.
So here’s what the revamped software has in store. While accessing the in-app camera, users will find changes in the form of an Instagram-themed shutter and shutter release button. Next to this icon is the camera roll which has been tweaked to show the most recent picture clicked.
Exclusively for the iPhone 5, improvements have been made to camera roll image selector to swiftly permit access to the last captured image. The software provides an optional grid guide to assist while taking snapshots and this feature is a permanent addition for the scale and crop screen.
A post on the official Instagram blog stated that after a hangar full of requests for additional filters, the company has finally introduced a fresh effect called Willow. Users employing this will find their pictures in a monochrome filter with a tinge of purple and a see-through glowing white border.
The update is said to have brought about certain improvements to the tilt-shift blurring. For those who aren’t satisfied by the difference in the effect between the preview and the actual picture, this option has been mended to provide better accuracy.
Apart from these introductions and alterations, Instagram for iOS has included certain additional changes. For instance, the News Feed has been overhauled and it displays larger images. Moreover, the welcome screen design too has undergone modifications.
The latest update also allows users to scroll to their heart’s content while scanning through user profiles and other grid views. Furthermore, images edited by iOS gadgets will find their way into a special album titled ‘Instagram’ in the camera roll.
For those with location-enabled devices, a Foursquare button has been added. This leads to the application or the mobile website bearing information of the place.
The 3.2 version of Instagram has been made available for iOS via Apple’s App Store for free. Similarly, its 3.3 edition can be downloaded through Google Play for Android.
