Instagram for iOS and Android update incorporates translations for 25 languages

With the latest version of Instagram for iOS and Android, the company has made up its mind to provide as many updates to users as it possibly can before the year ends. It hasn’t even been a month since the app was last upgraded with a new filter and now we’ve been exposed to one more.

Dubbed as Mayfair, the fresh photo editing tool is all set to make a difference in pictures worldwide. As per the official Instagram blog, pictures using this effect will be seen is a warm pink tone surrounded by a thin black border. Also, subtle vignetting will be carried out to boost focus on the center of the photograph.

In addition to the new filter, the service has come up with translations for not one or two, but 25 dialects. We haven’t listed all, however, few of them include Afrikaans, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish and 20 other dialects.

Even though Instagram for Android and iOS can be called an app of few words, the company believes that the little use of written language holds great deal of significance. It is necessary for users to understand concepts such as following someone, liking a post, the relevance of hashtags and so on. Which is why, the company thought it was essential to introduce further language conversions.

For those who own either iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the service has been modified to recognize if Facebook has been integrated with iOS 6. The main purpose behind this is to let users sign up or sign in easily as compared to before by using their social network account. Based on customer feedback, few other changes have also cropped up.

To elaborate, even those pictures which do not form a part of the Camera Roll can be picked up for editing, while front-facing snappers will no longer deliver mirrored images. On the other hand, bug fixes and improvements have been undertaken. Besides a few alterations and enabling picture sharing to Facebook, not many exclusive changes have been made to the app as far as Android devices are concerned.

iOS Android UI

Instagram for Android and iOS has been updated and can be downloaded for free. Those using devices that run the former platform will find the app in the Google Play store while iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad users can turn to the Apple App store to install it.
