Instagram 3.0 introduces Photo Maps for iOS and Android

Instagram Photo Maps

Instagram 3.0 that has hit online stores brings with it a new way to scroll through images on the photosharing application. This attribute dubbed Photo Maps is allocated to every profile and it presents each of the captured images on a map.

Users can also have a look at friends’ maps on their corresponding profiles. The interface has been tweaked in this version with bigger grid images seen on the Explore tab, location pages, hashtag and user profiles. Scribbling out more words just got easy as the app now provides a large text box for captions. The desired images can be conveniently geo-tagged on maps to remember the venues of the pictures.

“With every major release, we pick a theme – and for this one we’ve focused on the browsing experience. We’ve introduced a new and unique way to browse your photos and others’ photos on a map, which means you’re no longer constrained to browsing through page after page of photos,” states a post on the official Instagram blog.

As an added advantage, the application allows infinite scrolling, which means there is no need of tapping on the ‘load more’ button anymore. As soon as a user reaches the bottom of a page, more images are automatically loaded. As compared to earlier editions, the reformed utility is said to work faster on some of the latest devices. To make the experience safe, it allows marking comments as spam.
