ICS-powered Huawei Ascend P1 hits Clove UK

Ascend P1

The Huawei Ascend P1 is now on sale via Clove UK who claims that its features correspond strongly to the HTC One S, though this one is ‘cheaper.’ The last we heard about the handset, its TD-SCDMA variant was being shipped to China.

To begin with, the smartphone wears a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch panel that displays images in a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It draws its multitasking abilities from a Cortex A9 dual core processor which ticks at 1.5GHz and 1024MB of RAM.

To create extra hoarding space, users can further stretch the 4GB of internal storage up to 32GB by slipping a microSD card into the memory expandability slot. While the front panel is marked with a 1.3MP camera, an 8MP primary snapper with AF and dual LED flash sits on the rear side. The latter even tags along highlights such as face and smile detection, HDR and geo-tagging.

“It hasn’t been receiving the focus of the HTC One X or the Samsung Galaxy S3 but it is still a very capable smartphone that is at least worth consideration Huawei products do tend to be very reliable and in terms of specs it compares quite closely to the HTC One S, but is cheaper,” reads a post on the official Clove blog.

The chassis bears a microUSB port apart from a 3.5mm audio jack to plug in headphones and external speakers. Users can browse the internet and even download apps, games and much more over 3G/HSPA, Wi-Fi or GSM/GPRS connectivity. Lastly, a 1670mAh Lithium-ion battery powers up all the above-mentioned components.

The Huawei Ascend P1 price via Clove UK is chalked at £309, inclusive of VAT.
