Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), a network solution provider has announced the launch of IIJ Mobile, a data communications service for corporate customers. Now, IIJ is entering into the mobile communications market as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
IIJ Mobile will enable its users to use NTT DoCoMo’s 3G FOMA network and data communications to provide high speed Internet which is up to 3.6Mbps.
IIJ future plans to offer to the consumers includes access to closed networks without going through the Internet or providing mobile access as a part of the WAN using some of IIJ’s existing services.
IIJ will also provide one-stop corporate network construction and operation that includes mobile data communications.

There are three plans available:
(1) Fixed-rate plan,
(2) Packet share plan,
(3) Connection share plan.
The customer can select from the above plans whichever one suits him the best and then select it. The fixed rate plan offers unrestricted network access. There is a plan which offers multiple users with small data transmission.
The connection share plan is for a small number of users that do not use the network at the same time, but have large data transmission volumes. Selecting the right plan gives high cost performance with little waste.
The service offered by IIJ to the business users includes a high speed mobile internet access with 3G/HSDPA. This service is applicable nationwide with data communications and card terminal available on rent.
The cost of the plan offered by IIJ Mobile is 8500 yen (approximately Rs.3,163). This fee is fixed while the packet volume is unlimited and no restrictions for the protocol.
