Idea ID 920 and Aurus III announced in India, pegged below Rs 7,000

Idea has pulled the wraps off two of its 3G dual SIM contenders dubbed the ID 920 and the Aurus III in India and the smartphones can be seen carrying price tags that read Rs 4,950 and Rs 6,990, repectively. As is reflected from their retail values, the latter walks a step ahead of the former with relatively better offerings.

Shedding some light on the specifications of the Idea ID920, we learn that it has been optimized for Android Gingerbread and packs a single core processor with a clock speed of 1GHz, within its chassis. The front panel plays host to a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.

The phone offers a modest camera with a 2MP sensor which happens to be the only medium for imaging. Even the 512MB internal memory which is quite low in itself cannot be entirely used for hoarding content. But people might find some comfort after inserting a microSD card of up to 32GB into the incorporated expansion slot. The gadget draws power from a 1,400mAh battery to stay alive and kicking.

Next up is the Aurus III, which ships preloaded with the former edition of Android Jelly Bean. A 4-inch capacitive screen dominates the front side and holds the capability of dispensing visuals at a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Similar to the phone mentioned above, this device too gains steam from a 1GHz processor and a 1,400mAh battery. This CPU is accompanied by 512MB of RAM.

Front

As opposed to the aforementioned device, the handset in question has been graced with dual cameras. A 5MP snapper finds its way onto the flip side, whereas a VGA webcam has been lodged on the front. Its internal storage space sums up to 4GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Aurus III

The Idea ID 920 and Aurus III have been made available in India along with data usage offers provided by the company, starting at a price of Rs 261. The basic plan proffers 1GB and 1.6GB if 3G data, respectively and complementary ‘TV’ app subscription for 3 months. For areas falling outside 3G coverage, the company has offered unlimited 2G data at the same amount.
