By announcing the iBall Slide i9702 at a price for Rs. 14,999, the computer hardware makers have come up with yet another Android-based tablet after it launched the beefed up Slide i7218 back in May. This cost-effective slate offers a scoop of the Ice Cream Sandwich platform without being too heavy on the pockets.
It draws its multitasking capabilities from a dual core processor operating at 1.5GHz and 1GB of DDR3 RAM, while users have 8GB of internal memory for hoarding content. Plus, the device comes with a microSD card slot that lets customers further expand the built-in storage up to 32GB.
A 9.7-inch IPS multi-touch capacitive display rests on the front with a 2MP secondary camera in tow. There’s even a quad core G400 Mali GPU enhancing the quality of visuals. Users can take advantage of the other 2MP snapper fixed to the rear for image capture and video recording.
The tablet comes with a number of applications including Document Viewing, Zomato, IBN Live, Moneycontrol, Nimbuzz and Cricket Next. Facebook is pre-loaded as well for staying in touch with friends and family.
Connectivity features include an HDMI port and support for a 3G dongle and Wi-Fi for web browsing as well as downloading and uploading content. Last on the specifications sheet is an 8000mAh battery that’s capable of delivering up to 7 hours of run time on a single charge, sufficient to sustain a day’s worth of normal usage.
As mentioned above, the price for the iBall Slide i9702 reads at Rs. 14,999. The tablet is currently up for grabs through a number of online retailers including Croma.
