Hulu Plus app reaches Android devices with $7.99 per month subscription

Hulu Plus For Android

With Apple enjoying media content through Hulu Plus for a while now, there is no reason why Android should be left behind. The Hulu Plus subscription service is now available for Android smartphones, as revealed in the official company blog.

The service will give access to a full season pass with current episodes of TV shows from ABC, Fox and NBC such as Family Guy, Modern Family, Glee, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy and much more. Additionally, the list covers full episodes and clips from The Daily Show with Jon Steward and the Colbert Report.

Users may watch previous seasons of shows like The X-Files, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Law and Order: SVU, Ally McBeal and so on. Queued content can be organized from the phone itself. The service also hosts movies like Pulp Fiction, The English Patient, Breathless, Modern Times and others. Videos can be viewed right from where it has been left off on devices like Blu-ray players, tablets, internet-connected TVs and mobile phones.

Subscribers can also view movies over Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G networks. Patience seems to have paid off for at least six of the Android phones waiting for the app. These include the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X and Motorola Atrix.

The service may reach other smartphones later this year. The Hulu Plus app can be downloaded for free from the Android Market, though a $7.99 per month subscriptions is in order. Subscribers can access the service while on-the-move and a one week free trial is open as well.
