The Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite appears to be a good option for those looking out for an ‘entertainer’ in a compact form factor. The device flaunts a metal unibody chassis crafted out of silvery aluminum alloy that adds to its portability. Apart from this, users will also be able to conduct voice calls over 3G.

Scaling 193mm x 120mm x 11mm dimensions, the device weighs roughly 370 grams. A 7-inch WSVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen graces the front panel along with a 0.3MP camera for face-to-face chats while on the move. Let’s not forget, there is also a 3.2MP rear-facing snapper for capturing images and 1080p videos.

The tablet packs in a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor that assists the Ice Cream Sandwich platform in hosting the show. The CPU is backed by 1GB of RAM, while users have 8GB of internal memory for hoarding content. The storage can be further stretched up to 32GB with the help of the built-in microSD card slot.

“Good things come in small packages. The MediaPad 7 Lite is our answer to consumers’ demands for a good-looking, portable high-performance tablet at a price that makes sense for them. The MediaPad 7 Lite is consumers’ perfect entertainment and communications companion,” commented Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei Device.

Apart from USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 3.0, users have 3G and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity for browsing the internet and downloading content. The company has even included an accelerometer sensor, an ambient light sensor and an e-compass. A 4,100mAh Li-poly battery juices up all the above-mentioned components.

The Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite price is still under wraps and its release date for Indonesia and Malaysia is confirmed to fall in September. It is currently available in countries like South Africa, China, Russia, Philippines and Taiwan.
