HTC starts selling Fetch tracker device priced at Rs 2,500 for One Max and other smartphones

Apart from the One Max, HTC also rolled into India with the Fetch tracking device for the smartphone. The Bluetooth enabled-accessory is basically built for folks who can’t drop the unfortunate habit of misplacing their handsets now and again.

The device is compatible with the HTC One Max, Butterfly S and One mini. Of course, if you do invest in phones with eye-watering price tags such as the first two we’ve mentioned, you will want to keep tabs on them at all times, we think. Even the One mini doesn’t come cheap with its cost crossing Rs 35,000.

HTC Fetch

From that angle, around Rs 2,500 may feel like a small price to pay for the Fetch which makes sure users can locate their handset easily. The way it functions is quite simple. The squarish black add-on can be hooked up to a smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0 and then put on a key ring. Pressing the peripheral will get the paired device to ring when it’s within a 15m range.

Users can also find the Fetch, or alternately the keys with which it shares the ring, through the concerned phone’s interface. Beeps alert owners when both gadgets are getting separated from each other and the location of the dongle can be traced on Google Maps if needed. The latter can even act as a remote camera shutter button. If you lose both, it’s your fault.

Along with the HTC Fetch, the Mini+ remote control (and shaved down handset) as well as the Power Flip Case battery expansion options were released for Rs 7,790 and Rs 6,000, respectively.
