The HTC One has at last been taken out of hiding and showcased to the eager public, amidst all the hype and secrecy. The maker has launched a number of new additions in the phone like BlinkFeed, Zoe and BoomSound.
The One smartphone comes preloaded with the latest version of the Android Jelly Bean platform and will be running on a quad core Snapdragon 600 processor that would possess a clock rate of 1.7GHz. The phone would offer either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory to satisfy users’ storage requirements. Attempting to leave no stone unturned, the manufacturer arms the device with a 2300mAh battery under the hood.
The company has introduced three new features to the Sense UI, one of them being the BlinkFeed. This element streamlines all the information that is pertinent to users on their home screen and eliminates the need of opening a specific app. These would include updates from social networking sites, entertainment as well as lifestyle and news sources that could be personalized by consumers. The company states that the 4.7-inch full HD display has been made resistant to potential scratches and scrapes. Weighing just 143 grams, the phone proffers connectivity through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G LTE, the last being available only in a few countries.
The HTC One is aiming at a global release date in March via multiple online and local retailers as well as carriers.
