HTC One phones in India get Jelly Bean 4.3, Sense 5.5

The HTC One smartphones in India are now receiving the Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update that the Samsung phones have already obtained. Along with the upgraded version of the Google’s platform, users can expect the HTC Sense 5.5 interface as well.

But here’s the catch. Not all gadgets are lucky enough to be updated to the newer Jelly Bean platform. The dual SIM variants of the device will have to wait for some more time before they get a taste of the said OS. Also, only those phones which have built-in 3G support can expect the software to be beamed out to them. The Taiwanese company made this announcement through its official Twitter as well as the Facebook account.

You can look forward to multiple enhancements and features such as OpenGL ES 3.0 support, auto complete for phone numbers when entering them in the dial pad, compatibility with additional languages and more. A virtual surround sound mode will also make its way into the device and Bluetooth Smart (4.0 LE) should augment the connectivity options.

As much as 40GB of Google Drive cloud storage will be provided to every user. The aforementioned attributes are with regards to the 4.3 platform and here’s what Sense 5.5 has in store for us. It brings BlinkFeed homescreen updates and other features like Zoe, Quick Setting, Sense TV and Video Highlights amongst others.

For updating the HTC One, you will need a Wi-Fi or a 3G connection and you can go to the Software Updates section in Settings to download the software.
