HTC Hero and Samsung Moment to receive Android 2.1 in early May?

It looks like HTC Hero and Samsung Moment users are in for a treat. Phandroid reports that an internal posting by Sprint mentions that the much awaited update, Android 2.1, could be available in early May to HTC Hero and Samsung Moment users in US.

Reportedly, Sprint intended to provide the upgrade to two of their Android phones simultaneously. By early May, it could either mean the first week or even the early days of the second week.

As for the specs, HTC Hero sports a 3.2-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 320×480 HVGA resolution. The phone is equipped with a 5.0 megapixel color camera with auto focus. This handset includes G-sensor, digital compass, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.

When it comes to specifications, Samsung Moment comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, GPS and full HTML browser. This touchscreen handset sports a 3.2-inch display screen. This side-slider includes a 3.2 megapixel camera.

The exact release date of the upgrade on HTC Hero as well as Samsung Moment is currently not clear.
