Princeton Review and Modality join forces to roll out GRE Vocab Challenge iPhone app

GRE Vocab Challenge

One of the steps to get admission in prestigious universities is to score brilliantly in the GRE exam. To help students crack the GRE, The Princeton Review and Modality Inc declared the release of an iPhone app known as GRE Vocab Challenge.

The app is a graduate school admissions exam resource that gauges a user’s proficiency in 250 words, as recognized by The Princeton Review. Modality crafted a custom structure for The Princeton Review’s vocabulary apps that benefits from the pioneering Multi-Touch user interface of an iPhone.

Robert Franek, VP/Publisher of The Princeton Review, commented, “The GRE is highly vocabulary dependent. The more words you know, the higher your GRE score, which can help students get into top graduate programs and facilitate their long-term career goals. We are excited to build on the success of the SAT Vocab Challenge apps we made with Modality, now offering prospective graduate school applicants the fast-paced fun and convenience of test prep on iPhone and iPod touch.”

The app provides 250 commonly asked words on the GRE, as seen by The Princeton Review’s survey of preceding exams. The app encompasses four different kinds of timed challenges to examine the user on every word’s positive or negative connotation, synonyms, antonyms, and definition. Moreover, students can choose answers swiftly by swiping the screen or shaking the iPhone. Performance can be trailed by the app itself, so at any time students can view the amount of terms they have mastered. The app includes an inclusive index with definition, audio pronunciation and part of speech for every word.

GRE Vocab Challenge app can be purchased for $4.99 from the Apple App Store.
