HTC doesn’t seem like one of those manufacturers who likes to stay out of the news for too long, seeing as it has now launched the Desire L in Taiwan, almost immediately after announcing the much-hyped First Facebook Home smartphone. However, there isn’t much to discover regarding this Asia-specific handset if people have heard of the company’s China-specific One SU.
The HTC Desire L houses the same 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 touch screen displaying the Sense user interface in a WVGA resolution. Measuring 128mm x 66.9mm x 8.9mm in dimensions, it tips the scales at 118 grams.
It relies on a dual core processor which picks up a speed of up to 1GHz and seeks assistance from 1GB of RAM. Although users will not be able to carry out video conferencing due to the absence of a front-facing camera, they can satiate their imaging needs with the help of the embedded rear-facing 5MP snapper featuring autofocus and an LED flash.
The manufacturer reveals that the phone offers 4GB of inbuilt memory, but it has withheld information dealing with expandability. Another piece of information which remains to be seen is the supposed derivable activity time using the integrated 1,800mAh battery.
On account of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, users should be able to take advantage of browsing over wireless networks. Other connectivity attributes include Bluetooth 4.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro-USB port and inbuilt GPS with GLONASS. Apart from an accelerometer, ambient light and proximity sensors will find their way into the smartphone.
As of now, the manufacturer discloses no information concerning a plausible price for the HTC Desire L. Even official release date details have yet to be declared. Those residing in the region will spot the handset drenched in hues of black, white and pink.
