HTC Android based Hero introduced in India

HTC Hero Handset Android driven handsets are not widespread in the Indian market, HTC recently unveiled the Android powered Hero to offer the Indian consumers an innovative OS experience. The HTC Hero will mark the debut of the HTC Sense, a novel UI employed to make the handset more innate.

With the anti-fingerprint screen coating, the device offers smudge resistant and clear display. However, the Hero features Teflon coating that presents enhanced and robust white surface. Users can also search and download applications to personalize and customize their handset, via the Android Market.

“The Android-powered HTC Hero further underlines HTC’s commitment to push the boundaries in mobile phone innovation and design. HTC Hero introduces a more natural way for reaching out to the people and accessing important information in a much more easier and hassle-free manner. We are also very pleased to introduce a fully customized user interface called HTC Sense with the HTC Hero,” stated Ajay Sharma, Country Head, HTC India.

“HTC Sense is a distinct experience created to make HTC phones more engaging, immersive and intuitive and will be integrated across a portfolio of HTC’s phones in the future,” he continued.

The mobile phone is designed in such a way that it perfectly fits into the palm. Boasting of a 3.2-inch HVGA display, the device seems optimized for Web, multimedia and other content. The handset is inclusive of GPS, gravity-sensor, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, along with a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera. The Hero features a dedicated Search button that expands the searching horizons and enables users to search via Twitter, find people in their contact list and even emails in their inbox.

The HTC Sense facilitates users to view their friends’ Facebook status updates and photos along with their Flickr photos and are included along side their text messages, emails and call history in a single view.

The HTC handset brings good news to Airtel users in India, subscribers can now enjoy free data download of 100MB per month for six months. Airtel consumers can benefit from several utility-based applications like portfolio manager, hello tune manager, weather channel, mobshare, in-mobile search and city search on their HTC device.

The HTC Hero will be retailed at a market operating price of Rs. 34,600 in Maharashtra and Rs. 31,990 in other parts of India via authorized HTC resellers.
