HP Veer 4G up for grabs via AT&T beginning May 15

HP Veer AT&T Just a couple of days ago, we reported about PocketNow stumbling across images of the HP Veer etched with the AT&T logo. It is official now, AT&T has announced the upcoming availability of the HP Veer 4G, running the latest version of webOS 2.1 software on its network, starting May 15.

The pint-sized HP Veer 4G smartphone encompasses a 2.6” 320 x 400p resolution multi-touch display screen coupled with a slide-out physical QWERTY keypad for quick text input. Powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, this handset is capable of delivering enhanced mobile performance.

“A large majority of our customers are choosing smartphones but they don’t all want the same thing,” commented Michael Woodward, VP of Mobile Device Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “HP Veer 4G gives us a highly unique and feature-rich smartphone for customers who want something a ‘little’ different.”

“Veer is introducing the smartphone experience to a new generation of users,” remarked Stephane Maes, VP of smartphone product management, Palm Global Business Unit, HP. “Its unique combination of high-end webOS smartphone features in a surprisingly compact package is just right for customers who want to do more with less.”

Touted to be the smallest of all the HP webOS handsets, it hosts a series of features including Wi-Fi, aGPS, stereo Bluetooth 2.1, 8GB internal memory, Adobe Flash support and more. It comes pre-installed with advanced attributes like mobile hotspot capability and AT&T Navigator. The device packs in a 910mAh battery, which is said to ensure around 5 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time.

Dipped in either white or black shades, the HP Veer 4G will be up for purchase from several AT&T stores or via the carrier’s official website. It attaches a price tag of $99.99 clubbed with a two-year contract.
