HP most recently announced their HP Veer phone and HP TouchPad slate to meet the varying requirements of consumers the world over. In order to extend the range of products on offer, the company has officially unveiled the HP Pre 3 smartphone based on the webOS platform. It is claimed that this handset packages productivity, connectivity, speed and serious fun all under one roof.
Sporting a slim design and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8x55 1.4GHz processor, the smartphone is mostly crafted for multitasking business professionals on the move. The handset’s HP Synergy feature offer users the ability to sign in to their Facebook, Yahoo, Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft Exchange accounts and transfer contact information onto the phone automatically while staying updated.
“In the suite of webOS products we’re introducing today, Pre 3 is our premier phone, designed for the speed of business,” quoted Jon Rubinstein, senior vice president and general manager, Palm Global Business Unit, HP. “It enables professionals to accomplish more of their important workday tasks while easily keeping their fingers on the pulse of their personal lives.”
The Pre 3’s web browser supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 beta and HTML5 features. The phone has a 3.5” multi-touch screen rendering 480 x 800p resolutions. The vertical slide-out backlit QWERTY keyboard makes the experience of typing a comfortable one. The various connectivity features of the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and HP mobile hotspot.
The device jackets a rear facing 5MP AF camera with LED flash, while the front facing VGA camera lends video calling functionality. Multimedia attributes offered by the device are photo, music, video recording and playback. It is compatible with the HP Touchstone charging dock which is sold separately and will even come equipped with Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite.
