Cloud service seem to showing itself off as a very useful technology on an increasing scale these days. The official Microsoft Windows Phone blog has been encouraging PC, Mac and smartphone users to avail of Hotmail support along with SkyDrive. The latter is a cloud service that offers around 25GB of storage for documents, photos or videos which is accessible over the web from just about anywhere on the globe.

Hotmail can be accessed from any device and is integrated with the cloud service to store content and mails. In case of a new phone or device, simple sett up is enough to do the job. Photos can be uploaded to the cloud service manually or set for automatic uploads. These can be accessed from a widget placed within the Pictures hub. The OneNote mobile app will give scope for some serious Microsoft office work including uploading of documents, editions and sharing.

Users can share an array of photos on this cloud service over e-mail, IM, messenger and Facebook. Videos and office documents can be uploaded and shared too. Since the content stored may be huge, a pivot view will provide users with a complete list of documents that are shared and which can be opened as well as edited by using any of the office apps. The Office hub ensures easy search across the cloud and helps locate files and folders conveniently.

Hotmail and SkyDrive storage is available for free to Windows, Mac, Windows Phone, Android, BlackBerry and iPhone users.
