Hawaii church to present Live Video to iPhone users

New Hope iPhone The iPhone and iPod users can now experience weekend worship services live from Honolulu-based New Hope Christian Fellowship. The church authorities have announced that they would stream videos for the iPhone.

Majority of the church visitors wished for such a feature on their iPhones. With the HTTP live streaming technology now available on Apple’s iPhone 3.0 software, their wishes are fulfilled. New Hope thus becomes the first non profit organization to offer such a service. The video stream needs the iPhone or iPod Touch with the 3.0 software update along with an active Internet connection.

“Typically, churches are years behind other organizations when it comes to technology and innovation. We have tried to reverse that trend and pioneer new ways to spread the Gospel using the most current tools available. We don’t mind the long hours and stress that comes with innovating because we know that if we can come up with something useful, it can be used by other churches around the world,” stated New Hope’s Technology and Innovations Director, Michael Sharpe.

New Hope aims to transfer these premium videos over either a Wi-Fi connection or other carrier network. This service has been effectively tested with several users and now it is all set to be used by the iPhone users.

The church currently streams all five weekend services live on its website for computer users and created the streaming for the iPhone as a free service for those who may not have access to a computer.

The live stream of New Hope’s Services can be accessed from their website starting this month.
