Grab the PS Vita at just $199.99 in the US, new games arriving this fall

Now looks like a good time to get hold of a PS Vita as its price has just been given a considerably good trimming the US and Canada. What’s interesting is that both Wi-Fi and 3G models are pegged at the same price. Along with the drop in the retail tag, various new games have been announced for the console and they’re scheduled for release this fall.

According to the conglomerate, there are over 900 games available for the console on PSN. PS Vita owners are being treated to new promotions. The first one is the Japanese Game Sale which will run until August 26. Here, players can get up to 50% off (75% for Plus members) on certain titles like the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Muramasa Rebirth, from Japanese developers. Then there’s the Summer Select promotion that’s scheduled to end on September 16. Plus members are entitled to a 20% discount launch week discount on games such as Spleunky, Dragon Fantasy Book II, Divekick and Kickbeat.

Apart from these, 50 new titles are expected in the coming months. They include Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Rayman Legends, Tearaway, Killzone Mercenary and God of War Collection. The PS Vita is also an ideal companion to the PlayStation 4 system as it supports Remote Play. In recent news, the company launched a 12GB version of the PS3 in the US for $199.99 and it has scheduled a release date for its latest generation console.

The PS Vita can be yours for just $199.99. The price applies to the 3G and Wi-Fi-only versions which originally retailed at $299.99 and $249.99, respectively. It also includes the limited edition The Walking Dead bundle. Memory cards for the system have been discounted as well. The 4GB option is now $14.99, the 8GB chip can be picked up for $19.99 and the 16GB costs $39.99, while the 32GB unit is available for $79.99.
