Google unleashes its unlocked T-Mobile G1 as Android Dev 1

Google revealed its unlocked version of the T-Mobile G1 for developer use, Android Dev 1 phone. It is a version of the HTC Dream specially created for developers who wish to test applications and other hardware features without depending on the SDK access to T-Mobile service.

Google has developed a SIM and hardware unlocked version of the Android phone. It can be used with any SIM card and also can be used with custom builds of the Android operating system. As the name suggests, it will allow the developers to create their own Android applications. To own this device, you first need to register yourself as an Android developer on the Android Market website. It will cost one-time setup of $25.

The Android Dev 1 phone for developers will be available in 18 international markets; UK, Germany, US, Spain, Australia, Switzerland, Poland, Singapore and many more. The device will be priced for $399 (Approx. Rs 19, 655).
