Google Places settles down at iTunes with hotpot

Google Places Hotpot

For almost a couple of months, Android owners have been making use of Google Places’ hotpot functionality which offers them the ability to rate and review places they like with just a few taps. iPhone owners needn’t lose heart as Google now proffers the excellence of Google Places with hotpot at the App Store. The official Google Mobile blog highlights that this software will bring along most of the features present in the Android application.

With this fresh offering, iPhone owners can now personalize their search results to suit their needs. Rating places has become extremely easy as all the user has to do is launch the app and hit on ‘Rate now’. The app uses these ratings to narrow down search results so that mobile enthusiasts can locate the best places in the vicinity without wasting any time.

The higher number of places users rate the more the application is able to adapt the recommendations to suit their preferences. In order to further augment their experience, users can hop on to google.com/hotpot from their computer and add in their friends. By doing this, the app will now even display friends’ opinions along with recommendations.

The Google Places app can now be downloaded from the App Store for free. It is currently available only in English, but future versions will include support for other languages.
