Google now lets you embed Maps to your blogs and websites

The embed feature has been introduced for the new and improved Google Maps, using which it will be possible for users to paste a map on to their websites and blogs. And all that is required to bring the map to any webpage is copy an HTML snippet and paste it in the desired location.

The news was revealed by Ken Hoetmer, Product Manager, Google Maps API via the official Google Geo Developers blog. He says that before you paste the snippet, make sure that you have opted in. And once that is done, come back to Google Maps and click on the gear icon that is placed in the lower right part of the screen.

Moreover, Google insists that these maps have been built for users, just like its Maps application itself and brings a lot of relevant information. All they need to do in order to check saved places or save a certain location from the embedded map is sign in to the service. The venues they save can be viewed on the app for desktops as well as mobile devices. And one of the most important advantages is that the embedded maps are free of usage limits.

And of course, the Mountain View-based company will not let go of a chance to toss in some advertisements. So you can expect local businesses trying to connect with you through embedded maps. These ads will be similar to the ones that are seen in Google Maps for desktop and mobile phones.

The Google Maps/Earth APIs Terms of Service has been updated to accommodate new APIs with advertising for embedded maps.
