Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+, the Google Nexus S Jelly Bean update for Vodafone Australia customers will have to wait. The network operator has confirmed that a software issue has led to the delay of the Jelly Bean update for the device in question.

According to the service provider, the current software did not seem to adhere to the country’s regulatory requirements in terms of emergency calls. Making things even more uncertain for fans, the carrier hasn’t provided a release date for the update. Ever since its launch, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus S and the Motorola Xoom tablet were said to be eligible for the upgrade.

“We’ve just been advised that due to a software issue, the roll-out the of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to Vodafone Australia customers has been delayed. It’s been advised the software currently does not meet all the Australian regulatory requirements related to emergency calls. At this stage, we don’t have any further information on when the roll-out will resume, but as soon as we do, we’ll let you know here on the blog. We thank you for your understanding and appreciate your patience at this time,” states a post on the official Vodafone blog.
