Google Mobile App for Windows Mobile updated with My Location

Google Mobile App BlackBerry owners were offered the MyLocation service of Google Mobile app long time ago and now it’s the chance of Windows Mobile users to avail the service.

Searching with Google Mobile app has always been easier and quicker and now the app is loaded with a number of remarkable services that enhance the functionality of the app. According to the official Google Mobile Blog, the app is now inclusive of My Location feature that facilitates users to obtain local results without typing their location.

When the My Location blue dot with the current location is seen below the search box, users simply need to key in their query and the search results will display local business results along with web results. Privacy is also ensured by encrypting the location while it is being sent to the server. Users can also disable the My Location service anytime.

Reportedly, the app also presents URL suggestions which pops up the web page and skips the search results page completely, reducing the burden of typing them and also saves time. If Google Maps is pre-installed, users can also type a query and carry out searches within Google Maps.

Windows Mobile users can download the updated version of the app from the official website via their handset.
