Google Maps for mobile version 3.2 released

Google Maps Mobile 3.2 Google has unveiled its latest version of Google Maps for mobile that allows users to view many layers of information on their map simultaneously. With the help of these layers, users can easily find and interact with geographic content like public transit, traffic, local search results, Latitude friend locations, Wikipedia and more. Google Maps for mobile Layers is available presently on Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile phones, and will be coming soon to other platforms.

According to the Official Google Blog, users can also view their My Maps content as a layer on Google Maps for mobile. Additionally, multiple layers can be combined, enabling users to experience content-rich view of things around them.

The app also guides users while they are discovering new places. While moving to a new town or village users can switch on the Wikipedia layer and quickly learn few things about that place. To know more about place, users just have click on the ‘W’ icons that are spread across the map.

Now, the maps displays more search results which are displayed as small red dots, allowing users to search for the nearest café or any other place easily. The search feature is more advanced and provides a link to browse popular categories. This new version for Google Maps includes traffic incident information for some of the cities, giving more information about the nature of the delay.

To avail the Layers on Google Maps for mobile 3.2, hit the ‘2’ key or select Layers in the menu. Users can toggle on and off the layers, and create combination like friends’ Latitude locations against a planned route.

The upgrade is available for all countries where Google Maps for mobile is currently available.
