Google acquires Impermium cyber security startup

Only recently, Facebook bought Little Eye Labs, an Indian company for optimizing its set of mobile application and now another tech giant, Google, has turned its attention to a startup in the country. Impermium, an organization dedicated towards taking care of internet security has been acquired by the Mountain View-based company. It has its offices in Bangalore as well as California.

And that’s not the only Indian connection of the company. Two out of three founders of the company belong to the subcontinent as well. It was founded three years ago with a view to wipe cyber fraud, spam and abuse. The company says on its website that it has defended a lot of popular websites from cyber criminals and miscreants. The company calls Google one of the ‘best abuse fighters in the world’ and wishes to make internet a safer place.

The website of the company is now devoid of all the information. All it shows now is the note from Mark Risher, CEO and Co-founder of Impermium with the title ‘Impermium is Joining Google!’ Nothing has been mentioned about the terms of acquisitions and how much Google has paid to take it under its wing.

One thing is for sure, with Google backing the Impermium, we can expect the internet to have some resistance towards various types of cyber crimes.
