Gionee Elife E7 plans to arrive in India in January 2014

The Gionee Elife E7, the successor to the Elife E6 has been launched in China and the company announced at the launch event that the smartphone will be made available in India sometime in January. It will arrive in variants with 16GB and 32GB onboard memory and will even come drenched in shades of black, white, green, orange, pink, yellow and blue.

One of the key highlights of the device is its 16MP auto focus camera that packs some advanced features and the front side is graced by an 8MP snapper that should improve the quality of not only video calls, but also self-portraits. The device with 16GB onboard storage comes with 2GB of RAM, whereas the 32GB version makes use of 3GB of system memory.

A 5.5-inch touchscreen is fitted on the front side and full HD display has a pixel density of 400ppi. A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating helps resisting scrapes and scratches. Furthermore, its 4GB variant that goes by the name of Elife E7L will have a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood, while the regular 3G version will have to do with a processing speed of 2.2GHz.

Moreover, the Gionee device makes the most of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS and the Amigo 2.0 UI has been layered on top of it for an intuitive interface. A 2,500mAh battery has also been thrown into the mix and features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and more can be found too.

The Gionee Elife E7 16GB and 32GB cost 2,699 Yuan (approx. Rs 27,600) and 3,199 Yuan (approx. Rs 32,800), respectively.
