Sure as God made little green apples, manufacturers have been endeavoring to widen their wings in the market. Joining the flock, according to UnwiredView, Gigabyte has recently taken the cover off its brand-new Android smartphone.

Apparently, the device doesn’t have an official name yet, but it’s part of the GSmart Series – which, until now, included only Windows Mobile devices. The new offering runs Android 1.6 and measures 103 x 54 x 13.4 mm.

Ostensibly, the handset is heaped with 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 2-megapixel auto-focus camera, trackball, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. In addition, the device hugs G-sensor (accelerometer), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, Qualcomm ESM7225 528 MHz CPU, 256MB RAM, and 512MB of internal memory.

The eye-catchy phone also appears to integrate a microSD card slot, microUSB port, and 1,500 mAh battery.

The Gigabyte GSmart Android phone is anticipated to hit Russia in February with a price tag of 9,000 RUB ($300).
